Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill Bring "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" Back for Finale

Alan Moore & Kevin O'Neill present The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Volume IV: THE TEMPEST

Six-issue miniseries will serve as "swan song" not only to award-winning LEAGUE series but also to creators' careers

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: THE TEMPEST

After an epic seventeen-year journey through the entirety of human culture – the biggest cross-continuity ‘universe’ that is conceivable – Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill will conclude both their legendary League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and their equally legendary comic-book careers with the series’ spectacular fourth and final volume, The Tempest.

Tying up the slenderest of plot threads and allusions from the three preceding volumes, The Black Dossier, and the Nemo trilogy into a dazzling and ingenious bow, the world’s most accomplished and bad-tempered artist-writer team will use their most stylistically adventurous outing yet to display the glories of the medium they are leaving; to demonstrate the excitement that attracted them to the field in the first place; and to analyse, critically and entertainingly, the reasons for their departure.

Opening simultaneously in the panic-stricken headquarters of British Military Intelligence, the fabled Ayesha’s lost African city of Kor and the domed citadel of ‘We’ on the devastated Earth of the year 2996, the dense and yet furiously-paced narrative hurtles like an express locomotive across the fictional globe from Lincoln Island to modern America to the Blazing World; from the Jacobean antiquity of Prospero’s Men to the superhero-inundated pastures of the present to the unimaginable reaches of a shimmering science-fiction future. With a cast-list that includes many of the most iconic figures from literature and pop culture, and a tempo that conveys the terrible momentum of inevitable events, this is literally and literarily the story to end all stories.

Commencing as a six-issue run of unfashionable, outmoded and flimsy children’s comics that will make you appear emotionally backward if you read them on the bus, this climactic magnum opus will also reprint classic English super-team publication The Seven Stars from the murky black-and-white reaches of 1964. A magnificent celebration of everything comics were, are and could be, any appreciator or student of the medium would be unwise to miss The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Volume IV: THE TEMPEST.

-- a 6-issue mini-series, each issue 32 pages in (mostly) full color, saddle stitched, 6 5/8” x 10 1/8” (standard comic-book size), $4.99 (US). Issue #1 is scheduled for June 2018.

Co-Published by Top Shelf Productions (US) and Knockabout (UK).

About the Authors
ALAN MOORE is widely regarded as the best and most influential writer in the history of comics. His seminal works include From Hell, Watchmen, Lost Girls, V for Vendetta, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Never one to limit himself in form or content, Moore has also published two novels, Voice of the Fire and Jerusalem, an epic poem, The Mirror of Love, various short films and oral performances, and four of his ground-breaking graphic novels have been adapted into feature films. He was born and still resides in Northampton, England.

KEVIN O'NEILL is a British comics illustrator with one of the most unique and detailed styles in comics, who has deservedly earned an enormous worldwide fanbase. He is best known as the co-creator of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (with Alan Moore), Marshal Law (with Pat Mills), and Nemesis the Warlock for 2000 AD (also with Pat Mills).

Image Comics Announces Variant Covers for New "Kingsman" Comic Book Series

MILLAR REVEALS KINGSMAN: THE RED DIAMOND #1 VARIANTS BY QUITELY

PORTLAND, OR — Mark Millar (KICK-ASS, REBORN, JUPITER'S LEGACY) unveils previously unseen KINGSMAN: THE RED DIAMOND #1 variants by superstar artist Frank Quitely (All-Star Superman, Batman & Robin).

Frank Quitely’s variants join covers by original Kingsman creator Dave Gibbons (Watchmen), Simon Fraser, and Rob Doyle to launch new series KINGSMAN: THE RED DIAMOND from Image Comics on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017—just in time for this summer’s biggest blockbuster, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, to hit cinemas.

The new series sees brand-new creative team Rob Williams (Suicide Squad) and British superstar Simon Fraser take the helm for an international spy adventure, one that kicks off where James Bond draws the line.

Hero Eggsy is still not-quite-Bond, still rough-around-the-edges, still trying to be the suave gentleman he was trained to be. We follow him on an international spy mission to save the world from The Red Diamond, a villain hell-bent on plunging society into chaos. Eggsy’s also up against the villain’s lethal hunchback henchman (hunchman?!) Ingot, and out to woo badass South African agent Kwaito while he’s at it.

Cue riots, explosions, and plenty of old school Kingsman violence.

KINGSMAN: THE RED DIAMOND is the sequel to KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE by Mark Millar, Dave Gibbons, and Matthew Vaughn. KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE is the critically acclaimed comic book series by Kick-Ass writer Mark Millar, Watchmen's Dave Gibbons and director Matthew Vaughn. Now a Hollywood blockbuster starring Colin Firth and Taron Egerton, KINGSMAN reinvents the spy genre for the 21st century. The story follows a British secret agent who takes his wayward nephew under his wing and trains him to become a gentleman spy. Together, they uncover a plot that links kidnapped celebrities with a plot to eradicate 90% of the human race!

KINGSMAN: THE RED DIAMOND #1 will be available in stores on Wednesday, September 6th. The final order cutoff for retailers is Monday, August 14th, 2017.

Amazon Announces "Lost in Oz" for August 4th

Amazon Original Kids Series Lost in Oz Debuts August 4, 2017 on Prime Video

Brand-New Series Expands on Multiple Emmy-Winning Special and Stars Voice Talent of Ashley Boettcher, Gina Gershon, Allison Mack, Jorge Diaz and Nika Futterman

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--(NASDAQ: AMZN)—Amazon announced that "Lost in Oz," the highly-anticipated animated kid series for children ages 6-11, is scheduled to premiere August 4, 2017 on Prime Video in the US and UK. The new series, which expands on the multiple Emmy Award-winning Amazon Original special, Lost in Oz: Extended Adventure, is a magical, modern adaptation of the beloved Oz books from L. Frank Baum for today’s generation of families.

For the series launch, the special will be broken into 3 separate episodes and 10 new episodes will be added on. Lost in Oz, featuring the voice talent of Ashley Boettcher (Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street), Gina Gershon (Red Oaks), Allison Mack (Smallville), Jorge Diaz (Elena of Avalor), Nika Futterman (Star Wars: Clone Wars), Stephen Stanton (Star Wars Rebels) and Keith Ferguson (The Lego Movie), will be available to stream exclusively for Prime members via the Amazon Prime Video app for TVs; connected devices, including Fire TV and mobile devices; and online. Prime members can also download the series to mobile devices for offline viewing at no additional cost to their membership.

“Sometimes I watch shows with my grandsons purely because they like them. This time, not only did THEY enjoy it...I loved it as well! The characters were lovable, the story line was well written, and the animation was terrific. This is a successful modern twist on an old classic.”

In Lost in Oz, 12-year-old Dorothy Gale discovers her mother’s magical travel journal hidden beneath the floorboards of their Kansas home. The book triggers a tornado, which rips her house from its foundation and transports Dorothy and her dog, Toto, to Emerald City, a bustling, modern, metropolis. In order to get home, Dorothy learns she must acquire every element on Oz’s “periodic table of magic” – while the city faces the worst magic drought in eons! Along the way, Dorothy and Toto meet unlikely allies in West, Ojo, Reigh the Lion, Scarecrow, and Glinda the Good, who are each eager to help, but struggling with their own problems. Together, they navigate the magical landscape of Oz while undergoing their own unique journeys of self-discovery.

“We’re excited for families everywhere to experience the magic of this serialized action-adventure comedy, led by a fearless female character and featuring a diverse group of friends,” said Tara Sorensen, Head of Kids Programming at Amazon Studios. “The Lost in Oz pilot and the extended special were extremely popular with young viewers and parents alike, and the new series, poised to be the next Oz-based classic, serves up even more fun for fans.”

Today, customers can enjoy 14 Original Kids Series including Just Add Magic, Annedroids, Dino Dana, Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street, Danger & Eggs, and An American Girl Story which consists of four separate specials. The mission of Amazon’s original preschool series is to inspire lifelong creative learning in children beginning at the preschool age. The aim is to validate, maintain and foster young children’s creative, joyful, and curious learning spirit through offering core content that is integrated with skills children need now and for the future. This is accomplished by integrating a curriculum thread through all preschool shows including The Stinky & Dirty Show, Creative Galaxy and Wishenpoof, working with established creators and educational advisors that comprise the Thought Leader Board and developing learning experiences that extend beyond the screen.
