Image Comics Announces "Matador" Graphic Novel

BLACK PANTHER'S BRIAN STELFREEZE TEAMS WITH DEVIN GRAYSON FOR A GRAPHIC NOVEL MURDER MYSTERY IN "MATADOR" THIS MAY

Sneak peek of interior pages revealed

PORTLAND, OR — Image Comics is pleased to announce the forthcoming Matador, Vol. 1 by Devin Grayson (Batman: Gotham Knight, User) and Brian Stelfreeze (Black Panther, Batman), which will find a new home at Image Comics this May and collect issues #1-6 of the original series.

Matador is an explosive story pitting Lt. Isabel Cardona against a deadly serial killer in an edge-of-your-seat thriller that fans of Killing Eve and True Detective won't want to miss. Dismissed as a quota minority hire by her work peers, Cuban-born and Florida-bred Detective Isabel Cardona makes no friends on the Miami force by insisting that a series of seemingly unrelated murder cases lead to an urban-legend contract killer known only as "The Matador." Proving his existence soon becomes equal parts self-preservation and obsession—but how close to the dangerous Matador will Cardona have to get to make that happen?

Matador, Vol. 1 (Diamond Code JAN190134, ISBN: 978-1-5343-1068-1) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. It will be available in bookstores on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 and can be pre-ordered at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, Indiebound, and Indigo.

Matador, Vol. 1 will also be available for purchase across many digital platforms, including the official Image Comics iOS app, Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.

DC Soars Into Batman’s Birthday Weekend With The Milestone Release Of Detective Comics #1000 Celebrating 80 Years Of The World’s Most Popular Super Hero

The monumental 1,000th issue of DETECTIVE COMICS, the title from which the DC brand itself was born, celebrates Batman through a series of seven-to-nine-page standalone short stories. Tomasi (BATMAN AND ROBIN, DETECTIVE COMICS, BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT) with stunning artwork by Doug Mahnke (BATMAN: THE MAN WHO LAUGHS, BLACKEST NIGHT).

“DETECTIVE COMICS #1000 is a remarkable milestone in Batman’s publishing history and he’s had a seismic cultural impact on fans for eight decades,” said DC publisher Dan DiDio. “As one of DC’s most groundbreaking Super Heroes, Batman has inspired every writer and artist who contributed to this book, and we can’t wait for fans to connect with these new stories that celebrate the entire Bat-universe.”

This must-have collector’s item also features an all-star array of top writers and artists in Batman’s recent history, including Tom King, Tony S. Daniel, Joëlle Jones, Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Brian Michael Bendis, Alex Maleev, Warren Ellis, Becky Cloonan and more. DETECTIVE COMICS #1000 is available now at comics retailers and digitally for $9.99.

The release of DETECTIVE COMICS #1000 follows the spectacular oversize hardcover DETECTIVE COMICS: 80 YEARS OF BATMAN THE DELUXE EDITION, also available now. From guest editor Paul Levitz, the hardcover volume is packed with classic reprints of the Caped Crusader’s most memorable adventures. Featuring an all-new cover by Jim Lee, several unpublished treasures and a foreword from Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy, the celebratory book includes essays looking at Batman from extraordinary perspectives, including Cory Doctorow, Neil Gaiman, Glen David Gold, Denny O’Neil, former San Diego police chief Shelley Zimmerman and pulp historian Anthony Tollin.

Titan Comics Announces A Prequel Graphic Novel to "Snowpiercer"

THE SNOWPIERCER SAGA CONTINUES WITH A BRAND NEW STORY FROM TITAN

Titan Comics and Statix Press are thrilled to announce Snowpiercer: Extinction, a brand-new prequel graphic novel set before the extinction incident that led to the events of the original Snowpiercer graphic novel trilogy.

Titan's next installment in the critically-acclaimed and award-winning Snowpiercer graphic novel saga will be released in in 2019, written by Matz (Triggerman, The Assignment), with art by the original Snowpiercer graphic novel artist Jean-Marc Rochette. Debuting alongside Titan's new graphic novel, the Snowpiercer franchise will also welcome the hotly-anticipated TV adaptation.

Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, the TV adaptation of Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival are questioned in this riveting television adaptation. The TV series, starring Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind) and Daveed Diggs (Hamilton, Black-ish), will air in the U.S. on TNT and internationally on Netflix (excluding China).

The series is a co-production of Tomorrow Studios  (a partnership between Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios) and Turner's Studio T, along with CJ Entertainment. The series is executive produced by Tomorrow Studios' Marty Adelstein (Hanna, Cowboy Bebop) and Becky Clements (Good Behavior, Hanna, Last Man Standing). Showrunner Graeme Manson (Orphan Black), Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange) and the original film's Bong Joon Ho, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and Dooho Choi are also executive producers on the series.

Titan's first groundbreaking series of Snowpiecer graphic novels, Snowpiercer: Escape (ISBN: 9781782761334) Snowpiercer: The Explorers (ISBN: 9781782761365), and Snowpiercer: Terminus (ISBN: 9781782767152) inspired the award-winning 2014 film, starring Chris Evans (Captain America), Tilda Swinton (Doctor Strange, We Need To Talk About Kevin), and John Hurt (Hellboy, V For Vendetta, Alien, Doctor Who).

McMahon exercises control over our affairs, and his interests may conflict with the holders of our Class A common stock; a substantial number of shares are eligible for sale by the McMahons and the sale, or the perception of possible sales, of those shares could lower our stock price; and the relatively small public “float” of our Class A common stock. In addition, our dividend is dependent on a number of factors, including, among other things, our liquidity and historical and projected cash flow, strategic plan (including alternative uses of capital), our financial results and condition, contractual and legal restrictions on the payment of dividends (including under our revolving credit facility), general economic and competitive conditions and such other factors as our Board of Directors may consider relevant.
