"Dr. Stone" Manga Creators to Appear at Anime NYC 2019

VIZ MEDIA AND ANIME NYC WELCOME DR. STONE CREATORS RIICHIRO INAGAKI AND BOICHI IN THEIR FIRST JOINT APPEARANCE

Acclaimed Manga Team To Attend New York’s Largest Japanese Pop Culture Celebration

New York, NY - Anime NYC powered by Crunchyroll and VIZ Media announced Dr. STONE manga creators Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi will participate in Anime NYC 2019 as Official Guests and that the prominent manga and recently debuted anime series will play a major role in New York’s largest anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture convention.

Inagaki and Boichi will join over 40,000 fans, guests, and publishers from across the U.S. and Japan at Anime NYC,  November 15-17,2019 inside the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan.

Dr. STONE is an ongoing manga series spanning over 10 volumes and 100 chapters in Japan. In the series, all of humanity is turned to stone. Many millennia after that cataclysmic event, high school student Taiju frees himself from the petrification and finds himself surrounded by statues. The situation looks grim—until he runs into his science-loving friend Senku! Together they plan to restart civilization with the power of science! Dr. STONE is published in the popular Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in Japan, with VIZ Media releasing the book in the U.S. A hotly-anticipated anime adaption featuring the voices of Yusuke Kobayashi, Makoto Furukawa, and Kana Ichinose debuted on July 5 and is available in the U.S. now on Crunchyroll.

Dr. STONE writer Riichiro Inagaki is also the author of the sports drama Eyeshield 21, and Dr. STONE artist Boichi is the prolific Korean illustrator behind Sun-Ken Rock. Both will participate in panels, autograph signings, and special events at Anime NYC to celebrate Dr. STONE’s success. More details about their schedules will be revealed this fall.

2019 Latin Grammy Awards to Air on Univision Nov. 14th

Ricky Martin, Roselyn Sánchez, and Paz Vega to Host the 20th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards®

The Biggest Night in Latin Music® to air live on the Univision Network Nov. 14 from 8–11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central)

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Latin Recording Academy® announced that three-time Latin GRAMMY® winner, 2006 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year™, and two-time GRAMMY® winner, Ricky Martin, will host the 20th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards® alongside internationally renowned actresses Roselyn Sánchez and Paz Vega. The 20th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast live on Univision from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Thursday, November 14, 2020 from 8-11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central).

Martin, who will host for the first time, has been a part of The Latin Recording Academy’s history since the inaugural Latin GRAMMY Awards in 2000, where he was nominated for two awards and delivered one of the most memorable performances to date. Sánchez joins as a host for the fourth time, after hosting the 16th, 17th, and 18th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. Vega will host the show for the first time.

Ricky Martin
Martin is one of the leading international Latin multifaceted artists in the world beloved by fans worldwide for his instinctive understanding of rhythm, passion for performing, and equal compassion for giving. Paz Vega

Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano and More to Reveal New Star Wars Products Ahead of Global Launch

GLENDALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Generations of Star Wars talent will came together Thursday, September 26, 2019 for a global livestream event on YouTube kicking off a weeklong countdown to Triple Force Friday when new products inspired by this year’s highly anticipated Star Wars movie, live-action series and gaming launches began hitting shelves worldwide.

On September 26 at 2 p.m. ET, fans around the world tuned in to the Star Wars YouTube page for a livestream event from Pinewood Studios in London where the upcoming theatrical release “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” was filmed (view teaser here). Via live and recorded vignettes, an ensemble of veteran and new Star Wars talent revealed new products that will roll out globally for Triple Force Friday on October 4, 2019, inspired by a trio of upcoming original Star Wars releases:

 1. “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”: the highly anticipated final installment of the Skywalker saga, which hits theaters December 20
2.  “The Mandalorian”: The first-ever Star Wars live-action series, which will debut in the U.S. on November 12 exclusively on Disney+, The Walt Disney Company’s new streaming service

3.  “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order”: a brand-new action adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, releasing November 15

Star Wars talent participating in the global reveal will include: Daisy Ridley (‘Rey’); John Boyega (‘Finn’); Oscar Isaac (‘Poe’); Anthony Daniels (‘C-3PO’); Billy Dee Williams (‘Lando Calrissian’); Joonas Suotamo (‘Chewbacca’); Keri Russell (‘Zorii Bliss’); Naomi Ackie (‘Jannah’); Kelly Marie Tran (‘Rose’); Pedro Pascal (‘The Mandalorian’); Gina Carano (‘Cara Dune’ in “The Mandalorian”) and Cameron Monaghan (‘Cal Kestis’ in “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order”). Livestream viewers will also be treated to the worldwide premiere of a new trailer for “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,” along with other special surprises from across the Star Wars galaxy.

Warwick Davis, a prolific actor who’s best known for his roles as ‘Wicket the Ewok’ in “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” and as ‘Willow Ufgood’ in “Willow,” will host the livestream event at Pinewood Studios. In the U.S., fans and influencers will gather for a special viewing party at Lucasfilm’s headquarters in San Francisco.

As well as seeing new characters like ‘Zorii,’ ‘Jannah,’ ‘The Mandalorian,’ ‘Cal Kestis’ and the new droid ‘D-O’ in product form for the first time, fans will get their first look at the wide array of new products that bring the characters to life in new and unexpected ways, spanning toys, apparel and accessories, books, gaming, tech and home goods.

Force Friday is an anticipated event for Star Wars fans worldwide, commemorating merchandise introduced in advance of the episodic saga films. Past iterations, including a live unboxing event that rolled through 15 cities worldwide in 2015 and a global in-store digital scavenger hunt in 2017, brought out fans around the world who shared their experiences.

As always, fans are invited to join the conversation on social using Triple #ForceFriday, as well as to participate in real-world retail celebrations around the globe. Select retailers in major markets around the world, including flagship Disney store locations in the U.S., will open at midnight on October 4, featuring the new range of products from all three properties as well as a selection of limited-edition commemorative products.

Throughout the weekend, retailers including Target and Toys “R” Us Canada will join in to celebrate Triple Force Friday. On October 4, Amazon Treasure Truck will feature a limited-edition product in select cities — sign up for Treasure Truck alerts so you don’t miss out.

Fans in Orlando and Anaheim will be able to experience October 4 midnight shopping at World of Disney at Disney Springs and Downtown Disney. Disney Springs also will feature midnight shopping at The LEGO® Store, along with Star Wars-themed food and beverage offerings and a LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon Master Build Event taking place throughout the weekend.

Winners will be revealed by The Latin Recording Academy on November 14, 2019 at the 20th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards' Premiere and telecast ceremonies. The Right Stuff fan experiences will launch Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019, with a cast autograph signing and meet-and-greet at Talent Central from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Then, over at Center Stage from 2:30 to 3 p.m., the cast will sit down with special guest moderator, retired NASA astronaut Nicole Stott, for an out-of-this-world Q&A and first look at the series. Immediately following, from 3 to 3:50 p.m. at the Walt Disney Television booth, fans will get another chance to meet and take pictures with the cast and Stott. Finally, at 4:30 p.m., the cast will serve as Grand Marshalls for the D23 Street Party, leading the festive indoor parade across the show room floor inside the convention center.

The first season of The Right Stuff, which uses Wolfe’s book as its starting point, starts at the height of the Cold War. To combat a national sentiment of fear and decline, the U.S. government conceives of NASA’s Project Mercury, igniting a space race with the Soviets and making instant celebrities of a handful of the military’s adrenaline-fueled test pilots. These individuals, who come to be known as the Mercury Seven, are forged into heroes long before they have achieved a single heroic act. At the heart of a historic drama populated by deeply human characters, two archrivals — Maj. John Glenn and Alan Shepard — jockey to be the first man in space. Production began last month in Cocoa Beach, Florida, and will premiere globally on National Geographic in 2020.

As previously announced, National Geographic will be joining Disney’s D23 Expo show floor for the first time, delivering unique experiences that inspire curiosity and exploration for fans of all ages. D23 Expo’s Ultimate Fan Street Party – Presented by Alamo
D23 Expo’s one-of-a-kind street party returns to the show floor with a disco twist! Twice each day the cavalcade will travel down Mickey Avenue, with a live band, beloved Disney characters, high-energy dancers, and celebrity grand marshals! In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Mickey Mouse Disco album, Mickey, Minnie, and several of their friends will be wearing their disco duds as they delight guests along with Disney stars. Newly inducted Disney Legend Kenny Ortega will lead the 4:30 p.m. parade on Friday, August 23, and Peyton Elizabeth Lee (Andi Mack) and Skylar Astin, who star together in the Disney+ film Secret Society of Second Born Royals, lead the 2 p.m. Street Party on Saturday, August 24. Additional talent and times to be announced in the coming weeks and will be available on the D23 Expo app.

Marvel Entertainment to Unveil Films, Comics, Animation at D23 2019

Marvel Unveils Thrilling New Experiences for Fans at Disney’s D23 Expo 2019 in Anaheim, August 23–25, 2019

BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With only one month left until Disney’s highly anticipated D23 Expo in Anaheim on August 23–25, 2019, Marvel announced a thrilling show floor lineup that includes guest appearances and panels, stage events, exclusive merchandise, and more!

Inside the Marvel Studios Pavilion on the show floor, fans can step inside the action of Avengers: Endgame via a D23 Expo-exclusive video experience, and tour the costume gallery to see costumes worn by characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

VIZ Media Announces Its San Diego Comic Con 2019 Plans

VIZ MEDIA ANNOUNCES PANELS, SPECIAL GUESTS AND RETAIL EXCLUSIVES FOR COMIC-CON 2019

San Francisco, CA – VIZ Media prepares for one of the nation’s biggest annual pop culture events with panels and signings for SHONEN JUMP and SEIS MANOS at Comic-Con International in San Diego, CA (Thursday, July 18 to Sunday, July 21, 2019).

Check out the SEIS MANOS panel, an upcoming Netflix Original Anime Series and VIZ Media’s first original animated property. The panel features a star-studded cast and crew including Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Jonny Cruz (Overwatch), Angelica Vale (Jane the Virgin) and Danny Trejo (Machete) alongside creators and series’ writers.
