Yen Press Announces New Publication Schedule Due to COVID-19
Yen Press Reschedules Light Novel and Manga Releases
A Reduction in Monthly Releases and a Shift in Schedule in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic
NEW YORK, NY, April 3, 2020 – Yen Press announced that it will forego the solicitation of their September 2020 catalog and will reschedule the print and digital publication of several volumes of manga and light novels. Titles originally solicited with an on-sale date between May and August will be redistributed through September, reducing new releases in the coming months. This decision is a response to the continued impact of the coronavirus pandemic on key Yen Press partners, in particular distributors and retailers, as well as fans and readers of Yen Press books.
April Yen Press titles will be released as scheduled.

In this role, de Vera will lead comprehensive initiatives to drive consumer awareness for the publisher’s extensive catalog of manga, light novels and original content as well as leverage existing distribution partners and cultivate new sales channels.
As Sales and Marketing Director, de Vera will develop and implement comprehensive marketing aimed at developing consumer-oriented branding and the expansion of important reader demographics including the YA and middle grade categories. He will manage Yen Press’s social media presence and will provide oversight for publicity, advertising and convention activities. He will also coordinate sales efforts with key domestic accounts in partnership with Hachette Book Group, the direct market with Diamond Comic Distributors and international accounts with Diamond Book Distributors. He reports to Kurt Hassler, Publisher and Managing Director of Yen Press, and is based at the publisher’s headquarters in New York City.

HARUICHI

Anime NYC 2019 will host the Northeast U.S. Regional Qualifier for Bandai’s 2019 GunPla Builder’s World Cup. The contest is a yearly event held amongst modelers to show off their completed Gundam models. Top modelers from the U.S. as well as Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, Italy, France, Vietnam, and Canada battle it out for the title of GunPla World Cup Champion. Contest categories include Best Universal Century Model, Best Alternate Universe, Best Super Deformed (SD), and Best Factory Finish. Models are judged on painting, craftsmanship, and overall concept. The winning U.S. representative will go on to compete against winning modelers from other countries in the Final Round to held in Japan on December 9th.

Famed Mobile Suit Gundam creator and director, Yoshiyuki Tomino, will attend Anime NYC as an Official Guest to mark the 40th anniversary of his landmark property. Acclaimed Manga Team To Attend New York’s Largest Japanese Pop Culture Celebration
New York, NY - Anime NYC powered by Crunchyroll and VIZ Media announced Dr. STONE manga creators Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi will participate in Anime NYC 2019 as Official Guests and that the prominent manga and recently debuted anime series will play a major role in New York’s largest anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture convention.
Inagaki and Boichi will join over 40,000 fans, guests, and publishers from across the U.S. and Japan at Anime NYC, November 15-17,2019 inside the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan.
Dr. STONE is an ongoing manga series spanning over 10 volumes and 100 chapters in Japan. In the series, all of humanity is turned to stone. Many millennia after that cataclysmic event, high school student Taiju frees himself from the petrification and finds himself surrounded by statues. The situation looks grim—until he runs into his science-loving friend Senku! Together they plan to restart civilization with the power of science!
