So Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Columbia Pictures has "Men in Black 3" in some stage of development.  Sacha Baron Cohen and Josh Brolin's names are attached, but everything depends on a commitment from one of my favorite actors, Will Smith.

Will Mo'Nique Cash In?

Fiancial news journalist Lynnette Khalfani-Cox penned this article for AOL Black Voices Money about the financial benefits actress Mo'Nique stands to reap in the wake of her best supporting actress Oscar Sunday night.

In recent years, actors have earned high-paying gigs following both Oscar wins and nominations.  I don't know if actresses benefit as much as actors do.  And winning an Oscar has not always meant better roles - F. Murray Abraham, anyone?

Wesley Snipes is Back (A Negromancer Bits and Bites Extra)

AOL Black Voices has an exclusive interview with actor Wesley Snipes.  "BV on Movies" blogger Wilson Morales talks to Snipes about his new film, Brooklyn's Finest.  The two also discuss Snipes line of graphic novels (which may actually be webcomics) and future work.  No, Snipes says next to nothing about his legal woes.

Now, onto the good stuff:

BV:With some many reboots, remakes and now 3-D would you entertain returning to the 'Blade' franchise?

SNIPES: I would definitely consider it, but to be honest with you, I'm very proactive. While they were deciding if they wanted to have further conversations about 'Blade,' we went and created new urban superheroes. I have one where I call him the Blade killer. We have some new stuff that's contemporary, and that's putting us a 100 years in the future. It's beyond what's created by Marvel. I know how to do this very well, and I think I have a track record of success that has benefited even Marvel and this new trend of vampire movies, from 'Twilight' on down. All of those films have some residue of Blade in them.

I can dream...

I'm too busy right now to comment on this to the extent that I'd like, but I'll come back to it.

50 Cent Working on New Film

Hip-Hop Wired posted this short piece on Curtis Jackson AKA 50 Cent's efforts in the film world.

This is how the post begins: As the rap career of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson continues to slowly fizzle into obscurity...

Apparently the rapper/actor has begun work on a new film currently entitled "Things Fall Apart," which he will also produce and co-writer.  Directed by Mario Van Peebles, the film will feature Fitty as a football player.

Curtiss Cook Talks about Being Part of "Shutter Island" (Negromancer News Bits and Bites

Actor Curtiss Cook talks to Wilson Morales of AOL Black Voices about working on Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island:

How did you get attached to the film?

Curtiss Cook: I got attached to 'Shutter Island' the way I would think most g-list actors like myself do --- not like Mr. Washington or Mr. Smith get approached. I got the first call to come and audition for the casting. I read the scenes for the camera, heard a very nice thank you and left the office trying to put it out of my mind. I was able to do this because I didn't hear anything from them for a good three months later and that was a call saying that Mr. Scorsese wanted to meet with me. Cloud nine, that's where I was, on cloud nine.
