Created, starring and executive produced by award-winning showrunner and stand-up comedian Brent Butt, the Corner Gas franchise centers around the colorful characters of Dog River – a fictional rural town forty miles from nowhere and way beyond normal. The ensemble cast stars Brent Butt as Brent Leroy, owner of a roadside service station, with Gabrielle Miller as Lacey Burrows, Fred Ewanuick as Hank Yarbo, Eric Peterson as Oscar Leroy, Lorne Cardinal as Sgt. From Variety:  The actor Robert Forster has died at the age of 78, Friday, October 11, 2019.  Forster was a prolific character actor who had almost 200 acting credits.  He received a best supporting actor Oscar nomination for his role of "Max Cherry" in Quentin Tarantino's "Jackie Brown."  He appeared in TV series such as "Last Man Standing" and "Twin Peaks," and he died the same day as the debut of one of his last projects, "El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie."

From Deadline:  The actor and comedian, Rip Taylor, has died at the age of 84, Sunday, October 6, 2019.  Taylor was known for his exuberant and flamboyant personality and for showering himself and others in confetti.  He was an a voice actor on animated series, including voicing "Uncle Fester" on the 1992 "Addams Family" animated series.  Taylor appeared on talk and variety shows and was a panelist on several game shows, including Hollywood squares.

Celebrated Japanese Manga Creators Adapt STAR WARS For Official Release in Early 2020

San Francisco, CA – Multimedia entertainment company VIZ Media, LLC adds the world-renowned Star Wars franchise to its publishing catalog with the acquisition of STAR WARS: THE LEGENDS OF LUKE SKYWALKER: THE MANGA.

STAR WARS: THE LEGENDS OF LUKE SKYWALKER: THE MANGA is scheduled for release in early 2020. The anthology will feature a collection of stories by a cadre of renowned manga luminaries that include Akira Himekawa, Haruichi, Akira Fukaya, Takashi Kisaki and Subaru. Akira Himekawa created the bestselling The Legend of Zelda manga franchise (also published by VIZ Media), inspired by the classic Nintendo® puzzle-solving, role-playing video games. Haruichi is the creator of Leia Organa: Ordeal of the Princess, an official Star Wars Line Webcomic based on the YA Novel, Leia: Princess of Alderaan by Claudia Gray.
