Titan Comics Announces Its Plans for San Diego Comic Con International 2019

TITAN LAUNCHES BLADE RUNNER COMIC, PLUS HOST OF EXCLUSIVES AT SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2019: FULL PLANS REVEALED

Monday July 8th 2019: This San Diego Comic Con, (Thursday, July 18 to Sunday, July 21, 2019), Titan Comics brings exciting debuts, SDCC variants, limited editions and special appearances from a host of creators.

The wait is over ... Blade Runner 2019 #1, the most hotly-anticipated comic of the year, debuts at SDCC with a special virgin variant cover by fan-favorite artist, Stanley "Artgerm" Lau (only available at Titan Booth #5537).  On Thursday, (Room 4, 12pm) Blade Runner fans can go behind the scenes with a special spotlight panel to discuss bringing this critically-acclaimed world to comics, followed by a signing with co-author Mike Johnson, at the Titan Booth #5537

Sunday at SDCC is Doctor Who comics day, with a special Thirteenth Doctor panel and signing! Join authors Jody Houser (Thirteenth Doctor ongoing comic) and Richard Dinnick (The Thirteenth Doctor: The Many Lives of Doctor Who) to discuss what goes in to making The Thirteenth Doctor comic series (Room 25ABC, 10am), followed by a special signing of Doctor Who comics and graphic novels at Titan Booth #5537, including an exclusive show variant of The Thirteenth Doctor #9.

Titan's Hard Case Crime imprint spotlights Max Allan Collins (Road to Perdition, Dick Tracy), who discusses his upcoming release in a special panel and signing – your only chance to get an exclusive Ms Tree Art Card signed by the king of hard-boiled noir.

Titan Comics (booth #5537) will be bringing a huge range of show debuts and exclusives, including a black-and-white cover by Jeff Stokely (The Spire, Terminator) for Bloodborne #13, based on the hit video game series, and an exclusive wraparound cover by fan favorite artist Brett Parson for Tank Girl Forever #5.

OBITS:

From Variety:  Actor Paul Benjamin died at the age of 81, Friday, June 28, 2019.  Benjamin played "ML," one of the "men on the corner" in Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing."  Another memorable role was "A Trip Upstate," the 11th episode in Season 2 of "In the Heat of the Night" in which Carroll O'Connor's Chief Bill Gillespie makes a trip upstate to witness the execution of Benjamin's George Brownlow, at the request of Brownlow.

From THR:  Legendary French cinematographer, Pierre Lhomme, has died at the age of 89, Thursday, July 4, 2019.  He was known for his work shooting films by such directors as Jean Pierre-Melville, Jean Eustache, Chris Marker, and James Ivory.  He won two Cesar Awards.

From Variety:  Comedian and actor, Arte Johnson, has died at the age of 90, Wednesday, July 3, 2019.  He was best known for appearing on the 1960s-1970s sketch comedy show, "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" (1968-73).  He won an Emmy Award for his work on the series and was nominated three more times.

From NFL:  Former NFL quarterback Jared Lorenzen has died at the age of 38, Wednesday, July 3, 2019.  Lorenzen, a standout of the University of Kentucky, was a back-up quarterback on the 2007 New York Giants team that won Super Bowl XLII 17 to 14 against the then-undefeated New England Patriots.
