Anime Feature Film Expands The Virtual World Of The Popular Anime Series
San Francisco, CA – VIZ Media, LLC (VIZ Media), a premier company in the fields of publishing, animation distribution, and global entertainment licensing, announces the home media release of the ACCEL WORLD: INFINITE BURST movie on October 23rd, 2018.
The film will be available on Blu-ray, with an MSRP of $24.98 U.S. / $29.99 CAN, and on DVD, with an MSRP of $19.98 U.S. / $24.99 CAN. ACCEL WORLD: INFINITE BURST will include English and Japanese 5.1 and stereo audio selections, English subtitles, a character art gallery, as well as two OVAs, REVERBERATION and VACATION.
In ACCEL WORLD: INFINITE BURST, a mysterious black cloud kicks Haruyuki and his friends out of the online fighting game Brain Burst. Unable to reenter, they discover that this isn’t just an isolated incident— the cloud is spreading and preventing all Burst Linkers from accelerating. Haruyuki and the others soon learn that, to protect the bond that connects them, they must confront a powerful ancient being that has been sealed away since the dawn of the Accelerated World!
“Building on the original anime series, ACCEL WORLD: INFINITE BURST further explores the surreal and dangerous virtual world of the Brain Burst game that Haruyuki and his friends must navigate and overcome,” says Candice Uyloan, VIZ Media’s Senior Director of Marketing. “We invite fans to catch this exciting fall release and to add this latest adventure to their personal home media collections.”
ACCEL WORLD is based on a series of popular light novels written by Reki Kawahara (Sword Art Online) and was produced by the famed anime studio Sunrise (TIGER & BUNNY, Mobile Suit Gundam, Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, KEKKAISHI). Kawahara entered the first novel in the series into ASCII Media Works' 15th Dengeki Novel Prize in 2008 and won the Grand Prize. ACCEL WORLD has also inspired a popular manga series and several video games.
VIZ Media is the official North American master licensor for ACCEL WORLD and also distributes the 12-episode anime series in addition to holding the media rights for the feature film.

The New ACCEL WORLD: INFINITE BURST Feature Film Available On Home Video This Fall

The New ACCEL WORLD: INFINITE BURST Feature Film Available On Home Video This Fall

The film is a sequel to the 2012 ACCEL WORLD animated series, which are based on the light novels of the same title written by Reki Kawahara. ACCEL WORLD: INFINITE BURST will be released this Fall on Blu-ray and DVD, with special extras including the two OVAs “Reverberation” and “Vacation.”
In ACCEL WORLD: INFINITE BURST, Haruyuki and his friends are playing the online fighting game Brain Burst, locked in a territory battle with a rival group as usual. But things take an unexpected turn when a mysterious black cloud kicks them out of the game and prevents them from reentering. The seemingly impossible phenomenon isn’t just an isolated incident—it’s spreading and preventing all Burst Linkers from accelerating. Haruyuki and the others soon learn that to protect the bond that connects them, they must confront a powerful ancient being that has been sealed away since the dawn of the “Accelerated World”!
In addition to the feature film, ACCEL WORLD has thrilled audiences and anime fans as a popular 24-episode series (distributed in North America by VIZ Media) that was produced by the famed studio Sunrise. Author Reki Kawahara entered his first ACCEL WORLD novel into ASCII Media Works' 15th Dengeki Novel Prize in 2008 and won the Grand Prize. NETFLIX ANNOUNCES ITS FIRST ANIME ORIGINAL SERIES SET IN MEXICO, SEIS MANOS
Action anime series set to launch globally in 2019
Hollywood, CA – Netflix, the world’s leading internet entertainment service, announced today, Seis Manos, its first original anime series set in Mexico, launching on Netflix globally in 2019. The series is produced by VIZ Media, LLC.
Set in Mexico in the 1970’s era, Seis Manos centers on three orphaned martial arts warriors who join forces with a DEA agent and a Mexican Federale to battle for justice after their beloved mentor is murdered on the streets of their tiny border town. In addition to VIZ Media LLC, development and production of Seis Manos will be handled by Powerhouse Animation, Inc., which produced the Netflix original anime show Castlevania. The series is co-created by Powerhouse CEO Brad Graeber and writer Alvaro Rodriguez (Machete, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series). Also a writer on the series is Dan Dominguez (Captain Underpants, Spongebob Squarepants, Crash and Bernstein), and the series will be directed by Willis Bulliner (Agents of Mayhem, storyboards on Netflix’s Castlevania).

New K Acquisitions Include Six Action Driven Original Animated Stories And Spinoff Shorts Based On The Hit Anime Series
San Francisco, CA – VIZ Media, LLC (VIZ Media), a premier company in the fields of publishing, animation distribution, and global entertainment licensing, expands its catalog for the K anime franchise with the acquisition of K: SEVEN STORIES.
The agreement forged with Japan-based King Records covers the digital streaming, EST, home video and merchandising rights to K: SEVEN STORIES. Based on the hit anime property from Studio GoHands and GoRA Project, K: SEVEN STORIES is a collection of six original animated stories and spinoff shorts featuring both new and returning characters from the visually stunning k-project universe. More details on the home media release for K: SEVEN STORIES is forthcoming.
The original K anime series followed the story of Yashiro “Shiro” Isana, a teen wanted for a crime he has no recollection of committing. He finds himself being hunted by the group HOMRA, led by Mikoto Suoh, the Red King. With help from a young man named Kuroh Yatogami and a mysterious girl who only refers to herself as Neko, Shiro tries to prove his innocence, only to discover a shocking truth that would change his life forever. The series later spawned a feature-length movie K: MISSING KINGS, followed by a second season, K: RETURN OF KINGS.
VIZ Media holds the North American digital streaming, EST, home video and merchandising rights to Seasons 1 and 2 of the K anime series as well as the K: MISSING KINGS feature film. These home media releases are available now in DVD and Blu-ray formats.

"BLAME!" Anime Film Arrives on Blu-ray and DVD
Dystopian Sci-fi Adventure BLAME! Debuts With Blu-ray And DVD Editions
San Francisco, CA – VIZ Media, LLC (VIZ Media), a premier company in the fields of publishing, animation distribution, and global entertainment licensing, announces the home media release of the anime film BLAME! on March 27th, 2018.
The film was directed by Hiroyuki Seshita, who also helmed fan-favorite series Knights of Sidonia and Ajin: Demi-Human. BLAME! was produced by Polygon Pictures, the Japanese 3DCG animation studio widely renowned for its award-winning work on shows like "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and "Transformers: Prime," as well as the acclaimed Knights of Sidonia series.
The BLAME! Blu-ray edition will carry an MSRP of $24.98 U.S. / $29.99 CAN. A standard DVD-only edition will also be available with an MSRP of $19.98 U.S. / $24.99 CAN. Audio featuring English, Japanese, and Spanish dialogue options are available along with English and Spanish subtitles. Notable bonus features for the home media editions include a "Making of BLAME!" documentary and a Blu-ray exclusive art gallery.
In BLAME!, an “infection” in the past has caused automated systems to spiral out of order, resulting in a multi-leveled city structure that replicates itself infinitely in all directions. Now humanity has lost access to the city’s controls and is being hunted down and purged by the defense system known as the Safeguard. In a tiny corner of the city, a little enclave known as the Electro-Fishers is facing eventual extinction, trapped between the threat of the Safeguard and dwindling food supplies. A girl named Zuru goes on a journey to find food for her village, only to inadvertently cause doom when an observation tower senses her and summons a Safeguard pack to eliminate the threat. With her companions dead and all escape routes blocked, the only thing that can save her now is the sudden arrival of Killy the Wanderer, on his quest for the Net Terminal Genes, the key to restoring order to the world.
BLAME! was originally serialized as a manga series in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine from 1997 to 2003. It was the debut work of creator Tsutomu Nihei, who went on to win the 39th Kodansha Manga Award for his series, Knights of Sidonia. Nihei is also known for his work on the sci-fi manga series, BIOMEGA (which is published in English by VIZ Media).
